Hot Yoga

 

Practiced in a studio heated to 38 degrees Celsius, Hot Yoga is a cleansing, powerful and expansive approach to Yoga. The hot environment stimulates the skin to sweat, which is an effective means for eliminating toxins in the body. The heat supports the lubrication of joints and it softens stiff muscles, and it’s beneficial for maintaining cardiovascular health. A hot yoga practice helps students cultivate greater focus, stamina, ease of mind and attunement, on the mat and in life!

Hot Yoga is suitable for beginners and advanced students.

 
 

 

Class Levels: 

Basics: With a gentle pace, classes ensure students of all ages and physical stages have the time and support to experience the essentials of a connected yoga practice in a playful and expansive way. Classes emphasize optimal alignment for Level I postures and conscious integration of the breath during practice, as well as teach skilful modifications of postures according to one’s specific needs.

Level I - Foundation: Classes are designed to cultivate the foundation of a refined, healthy Yoga practice. Postures in the Level I syllabus address the major areas of the body that require opening and strengthening. This is a wonderful class for both beginners and advanced students, as it is the constant base of an evolving practice.

Level II - Expanding: Expand your practice to an intermediate level with more challenging posture variations and faster sequences. Cultivate greater strength, stamina, focus, breath integration, and optimal alignment through your practice.

Level III – Radically Expanding: Delve deeper into the heart and expression of possibility in your practice. This class moves deeper into posture variations, including arm balances, inversions and backbends with steady, pointed and attuned awareness. This class is for students with an established practice who are comfortable with Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel) on their mat, and Adho Mukha Vrksasana (handstand) at the wall without assistance. An adventurous heart and sense of humour is welcome and helpful!

All Levels: An open class where our community comes together to journey on the mat! The teacher offers posture modifications with detailed instruction to ensure all students are supported and uplifted in their practice. This class is suitable for Level I –Level III students.

Hot Yoga Styles:

 

Hatha – Classes draw from the various lineages of Hatha yoga, with a strong influence from the teachings of Anusara Yoga. These classes emphasize alignment, and weave postures with poetic reflections and teachings. Hatha classes cultivate strength, balance, flexibility and attuned awareness. You can expect your teacher’s individual voice to shine through, as each teacher will approach their class from their respective lineage of study.
*Ideal for beginners, with advanced variations for experienced students.
 
Power Vinyasa – A dynamic, flowing practice that aligns movement of the body with the pulsation of the breath. Classes are stimulating and transformative, and are optimal for students who crave a physical and meditative practice. Come prepared to sweat, explore, and skilfully expand physical and emotional boundaries!
*For students who are ready for a challenge and a great workout!
 

Detox Vinyasa  - A gentle Vinyasa flow suitable for all levels. The intention of this practice is to detoxify the mind and body by stimulating, cleansing and nourishing from the inside out.
*Suitable for students of all levels, beginners to advanced practitioners.

Yoga For Runners and Athletes – A yoga class designed to sequentially stretch and align the body for optimal performance and health during your running and athletic regime. This class emphasizes postures that isolate muscles and joints most affected by repetitive use in order to ensure the body remains limber and injury free, as well as cultivates mental focus and clarity to support one’s empowered aspirations during ongoing training.
*Suitable for students of all levels, beginners to advanced practitioners.

 

Silent Class  - A meditative class practiced in silence. Class is led by the teacher from his or her mat, without any verbal instruction beyond the cue for the next posture.  A silent practice welcomes students to attune to their breath and cultivate moment-to-moment awareness in their practice amidst the support of community.
*Suitable for students who enjoy to practice in silence while cultivating their practice in community.
*Silent classes are accompanied by music the last week of each month.
 

Hot Pilates  - Strengthening exercises that focus on core body strength, strong lean muscles, symmetry, and healthy alignment through efficient and graceful movement with the breath.
*Suitable for students of all levels, beginners to advanced practitioners.

AcuBall  - Discover the power of self-healing. Learn to create space within by undoing tight spots and releasing tension by using your own body weight and an Acu-ball. Through self-massage and acupressure you can stretch, open and release contracted painful areas 100% naturally with an Acuball and your breath!
*Suitable for students of all levels, beginners to advanced practitioners.

Yoga Cross - A physically intense yoga class focusing on body conditioning, strength, endurance and core work. Feel your body and spirits lighten as you improve your body composition and work towards your personal weight management goals.
*Suitable for students of all levels, beginners to advanced practitioners.

Karma Class:  A Hatha class that puts our practice into action in the world! This class is dedicated to a cause or charity in need of our community support.
